Pittsburgh, PA – June 2012 – This year, HDS sponsored a local Race for the Cure event held in Pittsburgh. On June 23rd and 24th, The Quaker Valley area hosted the 2012 Relay for Life Carnival benefitting the American Cancer Society. The 8th annual event offered everyone an opportunity to raise money and awareness for cancer.
Phoenix employee Stephanie Canter has been involved in this for several years now. This year, she was on the planning committee and organized the entertainment for the day.
HDS was able to contribute to the cause by purchasing a personalized flag. The flag was displayed on the main street of Sewickley for three weeks prior to the event. It was then moved to the Quaker Valley High School stadium as a continuing tribute and salute to the walkers as they took their laps. HDS’ donation helped Quaker Valley’s Relay for Life raise over $43,000 for cancer research.
