Pittsburgh, PA – April 2012 – HDS recently sent 3 of their employees to Hong Kong, China for research & souring new overseas product. This biennial trip took place in mid-April as CEO & Founder Howard Schwartz, President Martin Bohinski and Phoenix sales rep Scott Nash took a fifteen hour flight & acclimated themselves to the intricacies of sourcing at Chinese fairs.
The team landed in Hong Kong and immediately got to work attending the China Sourcing Fair at the Asia World Expo, which was the smallest of the three shows they attended.
The following day, they traveled to Guangzhou, China which is the site of the largest fair in the world, The Canton Fair where most of the new product was found. Following several days of research and meetings at the fair, the trio then traveled to Jiangmuto to tour the factories that are primarily responsible for HDS’ metal production & PVC manufacturing. They also toured a hat factory in Shenzhen.
They ended the trip with their most successful show of the three: the Hong Kong Gifts and Premiums Fair.
