Phoenix, AZ – April 10th, 2014
HDS senior sales partner Lisa Barnes was invited to attend the grand opening of a new café called Helpings Café, Catering and Market. This establishment is part of a facility called UMOM New Day Centers, which provides housing for homeless families. Many times families are broken up because places are strictly a women/child facility, but here they keep everyone together. UMOM offers a few different shelter programs, such as emergency shelter, transitional living, and a domestic violence shelter. Helpings will not only provide income; its primary purpose is to train residents in jobs such as baristas, cooks, and other skills needed to gain employment and build confidence leading to economic independence.
Lisa recently began working with UMOM on their promotional product needs and provided the coffee mugs that they are selling at the Helpings location.
The grand opening was attended by a number of people, including the mayor of Phoenix, Greg Stanton. Lisa is pictured with him as he holds a mug produced by HDS.
